Walgreens 9/25/11

Walgreens sale ad preview was released today!

Charmin Basic toilet paper is $2.99 for 6 rolls.  If you have the 25cents off coupon it's $2.74!

Hormel Microwave Meals are $1.99.  The coupon for 55cents off is still good until 10/10/11.  That will make them $1.44 each.  Not great, but not terrible.

Butterball Chicken Broth is 2/$1.  No coupon, but this is worth getting especially with the holiday season coming.

Remington Razors pay $4.99 and get $4.99 in Register Rewards.

Theraflu is on sale for 2/$10.  This Sunday there will be a coupon $3/2.  This will make them 2/$7.

COLGATE MONEY MAKER!!!  Saturday October 1 ONLY!  Colgate Optic White Toothpaste will be on sale from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. for 2/$7.98 and get $6 in Register Rewards.  Still have any of those $1.50 coupons?  Use two of those.  Pay $4.98 +tax out of pocket, but get $6.00 back in Register Rewards.

Wednesday Sales 9/21/11

Rons Supermarket

Can I just say, I like Rons this week!  They have Hamburger Helper for 88cents each.  Buy 8, use 2 of the $1/4 coupons.  This will make them 63cents each.  This works also for the 75cents off of 3 coupons that are out there also.

Jacks frozen pizzas are 4/$6.  Use 4 of the $1off coupons to get them for $1.25 each.  Okay so I was so totally wrong about this one!  They are 4/$10, and the coupon is for $1/3.  Not quite as good of a deal as I thought, but it still isn't a bad deal :)

Yoplait Yogurt is 10/$5.  Buy 6 and use the the 40cents off coupon.  Rons will double it to 80cents.  That will make them about 37cents each!

And Walmart always has Powerade for 78cents, but I like Rons much better, so use the 75cents off two (you can get those inside most Casey's) to get them almost buy one get one free.

Nothing much has changed at Dillons this week!  Still some of the great deals.  But BEWARE!!!  Yesterday I thought my total was a little high and my count for the $5 Mega Event was off.  But I was running late as usual and didn't have time to deal with it.  It turns out 4 of the Smart Waters I bought were out of a case they had to open to put more on the shelves.  They didn't realize that the UPC codes were different.  I was charged 8.99 each and lost the $5 for the Mega Event.  Dillons made everything right, but just watch the register to make sure.  It's easier to do it in the store than to go back later.

Organizing Your Coupons (Updated!!)

We all have a method to our madness.  I use a photo album to organize my coupons so I can see most of the coupons while others use sports card pages so they can insert page dividers to alphabetize or categorize their coupons.

I just ordered these ( http://www.amazon.com/BCW-3-Pocket-Currency-Coupon-Binder/dp/B003GPVC58/ref=pd_sim_hg18http://www.amazon.com/20-Twenty-Pages-6-Pocket-Widevision/dp/B003AOG3WM/ref=pd_sim_hg2, and http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004Z4BQK0/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER) to organize my coupons in conjunction with baseball card inserts.  These page coupon/currency inserts will allow you to see the whole coupon (expiration date, amount off, and product) of larger coupons while keeping them in place nicely.  I'll use the smaller baseball card inserts to organize the smaller coupons that are baseball card sized.  I can then add in page dividers to alphabetize my coupons (I like alphabetical better than categories).  Yay for organization!!!

Another Great Rons Text

Everybody get there text coupon for $3.50 off of Deli lunch meat?!?  Love those text message coupons.  If you haven't started receiving them, or haven't signed up for them yet, text RONS to 72727.  Believe me, even if you get charged for the texts, you will still save bundle!

Coupon Match Ups 9/18/11

I wasn't too impressed with Walgreens this week.  There were a few things that are worth going there, but only if you're in the area.

Campbells Cooking Soups are 79cents.  It says limit three but sometimes the right cashier will let you get one extra to use your 40cents/4 coupon.  If you can, that makes them about 69cents each.  Pretty good for the Cream of soups.

Trident Gum is 79cents/pack.  Use your $1/3 out of the KC Star to get them for 44cents each after coupons.

Blistex Lip Soother is FREE after Register Rewards.

Nestle Candy Bars are 49cents each.  If you scored any of the $1/2 coupons I told you about earlier, you'll get Crunch Bars, Baby Ruth's, or Butterfinger candy bars for free.

Softsoap Hand Soap is Buy One Get One (BOGO) Free.  If you were able to print any of the 70cents off coupons a couple of weeks ago, you are allowed to use two of them, even if one of the soaps is already free.  Not sure how much that makes them because I don't know what the regular price is, but I would imagine they are about $1.59 each.  That would make the hand soaps approximately 10cents each after two coupons.

Big Lots has All laundry soap on sale for $3.00.  Walmart will price match Big Lots if you have the ad.  Then if you have any of the $1.00 off coupons from a few weeks ago, you will get All detergent for only $2.00!  That isn't the best deal, but it is still really good!  This is one time I do recommend price matching, since Big Lots does NOT accept coupons.

Remember, be kind!  Save some for others.

My Success Today!

So I went into Walgreens to pick up just a few little things.  I ended up getting:

4 Gain Laundry Soaps
2 Cascade Action Packs
1 Tide Stain Remover Packs

I had 4 $2 off coupons for the Gain, 2 $1 off Coupons for the Cascade, and 1 $2 off coupon I got for the Tide Stain Remover from facebook.

I spent less than $23 out of pocket.  In return I got back a $10 Register Reward for spending more than $30 on Proctor and Gamble, a $3 Register Reward for buying at least 3 Gain Products, and another $3 Register Reward, but I can't remember what that one was for.  So spent $23 got back $16  that I turned around and spent on the Welch's Grape Juice that I had $1/1 coupons to make them $1.50 each and 12 packages of Chex Mix that I had coupons for  50cents off each.  Did I mention how great Walgreens can be?

Free Hand Sanitizer at Bath and Body Works

Bath and Body Works is giving you a free Halloween Pocket Pack with any purchase!  There is no minimum purchase you have to do, so go in buy one of their 50cent Pocket Pack Purse Holders and get a free Halloween Pocket Pack Hand Sanitizer for Free!!  Go HERE for your printable coupon.

Working in the school system, I keep one of these attached to my belt loop and sanitize my hands all day long. I printed off three coupons, one for me, one for the blue eyed child, and one for the brown eyed child.  Apparently as long as you want to make separate purchases in the same day you can use one of these!

Sunday Walgreens Ad

Starting Sunday morning, Walgreens has a few coupon match-ups that are worthwhile, but you might consider how badly you want to fight the crowds for them.

First they have Welch's Grape Juice on sale 2/$6 with an in-store coupon for $1/2.  If you have the Welch's coupon from a few weeks ago, use two and that will make them 2/$3.  The in-store coupon is good until the last weekend of September, so if you are unable to get your juice get your raincheck and just use it before the end of September.

Another raincheck possibility is Chex Mix and Bugles.  They are on sale, along with Gardettos and Cracker Jacks.  There was a printable coupon for 50cents off one bag.  There was a coupon for Bugles and one for Chex Mix.  Get them both for 49 cent snacks.

Playtex Tampons are on sale for $3.99 with a $1 Register Reward (coupon good for your next purchase).  Use a $2 off coupon for 99cent tampons.

Oral B Toothbrush's are on sale for 2/$5 with a $3 Register Reward.  The August 28 P&G insert had coupons for 75cents off.  That will make these toothbrushes only 25cents each.

And finally Colgate Optic White Toothpaste is on sale for $3.99 with a $2 Register Reward.  There is supposed to be a $1.50 coupon THIS SUNDAY for Optic White.  That will make this only 49cents.

Remember to be respectful of others, don't "clear the shelves", and remember rainchecks are just as good as getting them now!  Happy shopping!

Rons IGA Website Ad

From now through September 11th, Rons IGA has a few more items on sale.  Coast and Dial bar soap is 99cents for a 3 pack, Crest Toothpaste for 49cents, Axe Shampoo and Conditioner for $2.88.  If you got the text coupon for $2.50 off any Pepsi 12 pack, that makes the 12 packs $1.00.

Thanks RONS!  These new sales and  internet/phone coupons are great.

Wednesday Sale Ads

I found zero, zip, zilch at Dillons to make it worth the effort to go there except  they still have the buy 4 save $4 with Secret Deoderant and other P&G Products, just not what I've come to expect from Dillons.

Now Rons IGA has made me a happy, happy girl today!  Cap'n Crunch Cereals for only 99cents.  There are a limit of 3, but who says you can't stop in every day and pick up three?  I have a lot of cereal, but my family loves Cap'n Crunch.  We will definitely be stocking up more!  Rons also has Wonder Bread for only 99cents with a limit 2.  Totinos Pizzas are 5/$5, if you have any of the $1/4 coupons this will make them 75cents each.  Libby's fruit is 99cents each and I'm pretty sure that I have some of the $1/2 Libby's fruit coupons which will make them buy one get one free!!!  And milk at Rons is only $2.88 this week.

Walgreens and Dillons

I stopped by Dillons because I had forgotten a few things.  While I was there I discovered they also had the 7 serving Nesquick Powder for 99cents, but they'll "double" the 75cent coupon up to $1.00.  That means they are completely free in Dillons.  Dillons also had the Banquet Snacks.  They are 5/$5.00.  If you have any of the 35cent off coupons will be worth 70cents.  They are definitely worth the 30cents just to keep on hand.

Walgreens had Nyquil and Dayquil that were being clearanced out for between $1.39 and $3.29 each.  Unfortunately the Pittsburg Walgreens is out, but if you happen to be in Webb City or Fort Scott, it's worth the effort to check the Walgreens there.  If you have any of the $3.00/2 coupons of $1.00/1 you've got it made.  I got seven Dayquil/Nyquil and 3 headbands for a total of $2.44.

Walgreens is also clearancing some Zyrtec and some Claritin.  I didn't have any of those coupons, but if I remember right, they were pretty good coupons.  The Claritin was less than $4 and the Zyrtec was $6.99.

Walmart Coupon Deals

Walmart has the individual sized Simply Orange/Simply Lemonade/Simply Limeade for $1.00.   If you've printed any of the $1.00 off coupons you can get them for only the price of tax.

They also have the small 7 serving size packages of Nesquick Chocolate Powder for $1.00.  There is a printable 75cent off coupon at coupons.com.

Also this is the last day for 18cent Dial Hand Soap at Dillons!  Stock up now.  There is a coupon for 70cents off Softsoap, and Dillons may put it on sale again soon.  But why take chances?  Get the Dial Soap while it's available.

My Apologies

I am so sorry, ladies!  I was mistaken with the Eggo Waffles.  They were on sale for $2.88.  That still only made each box $2.38 if you used your $1.00 off Two boxes.  I figured it out and having the smaller boxes on sale 2/$4, use your $1 off coupon makes each waffle 15cents each.  The family packs for $2.38 makes each waffle 9cents each.  Definitely a great deal anyway!

Sunday, September 4, 2011

Cheap Eggo Waffles!

Rons IGA has a 24 pack of Eggo Waffles on sale this week (ends Tuesday) for $1.99.  If you have any of the $1.00/2 Eggo Waffles coupons from a few weeks ago, You can use that and get 2-24 pack for $2.98.  This is an incredible deal since Dillons puts the 10 pack on sale for $1.50 fairly often.

Awesome Coupons Today!

So I have "The Other Half" buy 10 KC Stars from Dollar Tree every Sunday morning.  More and more it is a fight to get them, but he's a good sport getting up to get them.

Today's coupons were so good that once in you figure in the double coupon value from Dillons, which is where I do most of my shopping, one newspaper paid for the whole stack of papers. On top of all of the inserts, I also was pleased to find BONUS P&G coupons inside the KC Star.  It's an add for Walmart, but the coupons are good at any retailer.

Among my favorite were the Safeguard or Ivory soap coupons, the Colgate and Crest Toothpaste coupons, the Colgate Toothbrush coupons, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, Banquet Snacks coupon!  I have yet to find a store that carries the Banquet Snacks, but with a $0.35 coupon doubled at Rons or Dillons, it should be pretty cheap.

What were your favorite coupons?

Sunday Coupon Preview

It's the first Sunday of the month!  There will be three inserts in the paper, one RedPlum, one SmartSource, and one P&G!  I love the P&G weekends because those coupons usually result in FREE STUFF!!!  You might have to hold on to the coupons for three or four weeks, but I guarantee it will have some great deals.  It's also worth remembering that Joplin Globe and the Morning Sun can easily have different coupons from the KC Star.  It's worth picking up some of each!

The coupon highlights for this weekend are:

Barilla Pasta Sauce $0.55/1
Colgate Toothbrush  $0.40/1
Colgate Toothpaste $0.50/1
Sargento Snack Product $0.50/1
Cascade $1/1
Crest Toothpaste $0.50/1
Crest 3D White  $1/1
Dawn Dish Soap  $0.50/1
Ivory/Safeguard Soap  $0.35/1
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser  $0.50/1

There are many more that you can see at sundaycouponpreview.com, but these are the highlights that will usually result in incredibly cheap products!  Remember, there are differences depending on region, so these coupons may be slightly different in our area.

Dillons will double all coupons $0.50 and under, and over $0.50 will become worth $1, even when the coupon says "Do Not Double."  Rons IGA will double coupons under $0.50.

Swagbucks and Coupons

Swagbucks.com is a search engine that gives you points for searching and for other activities.  They have partnered with coupons.com.  You still print out the coupons the same way, but every time you use a coupon printed from swagbucks, you earn 10 points.  At 450 points (or bucks) you can buy a $5 Amazon Gift card or gift cards to other stores.  You just add the gift card to your Amazon account.  There is no expiration date on the cards.  I usually earn 1 or 2 gift cards every month.

Free Candy Bars!

Check some convenient stores for Crunch Bar and Butterfinger displays.  There are coupons for $1.00/2.  I don't know yet if Dillons or Rons IGA has them on sale for $0.50 right now, but they go on sale frequently.  Just grab a couple of coupons and hold onto them until Butterfinger or Crunch Bars go on sale!  Just remember to save some of those coupons for other people.

The Beauty of Register Rewards

Sometimes to begin your savings you have a put out a little more money to save money.  To begin with you will need to put out a little bit of money to buy some Sunday newspapers.  At Walgreens, the best way to save money is to put out a little bit of money on items that they have Register Rewards which are coupons back when you buy certain items each week.

This week Walgreens has Keebler Cookies 4/$10.  There were some Keebler and Kelloggs coupon a few weeks ago in the paper.  If you have those you will pay $8 for 4.  But then you will receive a coupon for $5 good toward your next purchase!  Just remember you cannot use a coupon to receive back the same coupon.  For example, you cannot use the $5 Keebler coupon on the Keebler cookies again because the coupon will not print out after purchase.

Sometimes if the items I want do not cost very much, I will save those Register Rewards for a couple of weeks.

Welcome to Couponing

I am starting this blog as trial.  I started couponing the beginning of May (only 3 1/2 months ago) and have already saved $745 just at Dillons, that doesn't even count Walgreens and Rons IGA.  I thought it would be great to let others new to couponing in on the rules.

Let's go over a few ground rules of couponing!  First, a lot of companies have started setting limits on the number of "like coupons" used in each shopping trip.  P&G coupons are almost always limited in the number you can use in one shopping trip.

Next, try to be respectful to other couponers.  Don't clear the shelf of a product even if you can get it for free or receive a surplus back from it.  Leave some for the next person.  At Dillons I would even prefer to miss out on the bargain as long as my matching coupon is good for awhile because their rainchecks are good for 60 days.

Third, share in the wealth.  I have received enough stuff mostly for free (at Dillons and Rons IGA you still have to pay tax on the original amount) that I have helped my sister and mother start on a stockpile, too!

So get your coupons tomorrow, and let's begin looking for local coupon match-ups!
